From the judges: Clearly a lot of work and tons of creativity went into this effort, and it shows. A truly original, innovative and fun way to engage alumni virtually, and address a timely and relevant social issue. The website was well designed, and the parade clearly explained. The floats were awesome, and the parade moderators reflect a diverse group.

Title of Entry: UCLA Lambda Alumni Association Inside Pride Parade
About this Entry: Every year UCLA Lambda LGBTQ+ Alumni Association participates in the LA Pride Parade. Because COVID-19 forced many to remain inside to follow public health guidelines, UCLA Lambda Alumni Association held a virtual "Inside Pride Parade." The parade consisted of shoebox floats, short performances and honored grand marshals. With heightened civil unrest in response to police violence across the country in June, 2020, the UCLA Lambda Alumni Association was intentional in putting together a parade that represents the diverse LGBTQ+ community—ultimately meeting a one-to-one Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) to non-BIPOC ratio in its parade entries. The parade was narrated and live streamed to the UCLA Alumni Facebook page for the entire alumni community to enjoy on July 26.
