Title of Entry: We Won't Let Your Studies Calcify

About this Entry: During the COVID-19 shutdown at UNLV, the University Libraries were, for the first time, quiet and devoid of students. After weeks of constant changes and uncertainly, the Libraries wanted to let students and the rest of the campus know that we missed the activity happening in the building. We utilized Mandy the Skeleton (named by our student assistants), a frequent tool available in the library for students who are studying anatomy. The light-hearted collaboration between the Director of Communications and the Visual Materials Curator in Special Collections & Archives resulted in a hilarious photo essay that documented what Mandy was up to in the Library while waiting for the lock down to end. The photo essay was published in the campus newsletter, UNLV Today, as well as posted to the Libraries Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
